Help the Hungry!
Flowers Elementary School was the proud recipient of
a grant for the "Character at
Heart" program which teaches students about important character traits,
such as kindness, respect, compassion, tolerance, and honesty.
Flowers School Guidance Counselor Melissa Friesen
and Speech Therapist Kelley Fuller headed up the program, which included students
collecting small bags of dog and cat food to be distributed to seniors for
their beloved pets through TAG’s Meals-on-Wheels Pet Food Project.
Through the efforts of Flowers School and TAG these
donations will help our elderly senior citizens care for their pets and relieve
some of the economic hardships of trying to provide food for their pet.
TAG President Mary Wilson and her therapy dog Sunny,
along with Tag’s Meals-on-Wheels Pet Food
Project Coordinator Cindy Wood were on hand to collect over 200 pounds of pet
food collected by the students!
